Prayer-Eating Evening #1

Summertime is a time of festivals all over Japan, and Kanazawa is no exception. Because the area where we prayer walk was going to be cordoned off for a dance festival called yosakoi and I wouldn't be able to drive the car and park anywhere near there, and because Bridget's birthday is next week, we decided to surprise her with a birthday dinner out!

There was only one fly in the ointment: at the last minute, Bridget was unable to come with us! Nikka, Yuki, and I went ahead to the restaurant and ate...

But we took a dessert treat home for Bridget and asked her to meet us in the convenience-store parking lot near her apartment so we could say "hello" to her! Surprise! We sang happy birthday to her and gave her the Nozomi Project necklace we had bought for her.

We'll plan another time to actually go out with Bridget, but in the meantime, we decided that we like praying in the car and at the restaurant together, too, and that prayer-eating must be added to our prayer-walking repertoire!
