Prayer-Walking Time #36: Praying for a Difference

Well, the big live Christmas tree is up in front of the Kirara shopping center already, and we did feel sparkly and joyful as we started out in prayer together: Eri, Stephen, Yuki, and me. As we looked around, there's a karaoke place across the street called Joy Joy, and another sign said Joyful in katakana (one of the Japanese alphabets---it's used for foreign word imports). So we asked God to give us joy and for His joy to be on Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, the Hokuriku region, and all of Japan.

We stopped across the street from Universe Club, where we prayer walkers have prayed many many times; it's one of those dodgy bars that specifically advertises that they have foreign women working there. I noticed for the first time, however, that we were standing under a weeping willow tree, and I realized that Jesus weeps over anyone who is struggling, hurt, or in any kind of bondage.

After stopping to talk and pray down a number of side streets, and once again realizing just how many dodgy bars they can pack into each building (a lot!), we came down this shopping road and saw a store called Difference. Jesus, make a difference, we pray!

We ended on a happy note down a side street and in front of Kanazawa Church, which none of us has visited but we know our brothers and sisters gather there. Bless the group, please, Lord!

The Filipina young lady we met last time (R) was not out selling chocolate this time---we didn't see her though we looked around for her as we walked. She never got in touch with me, and I hope she's OK; not just OK, but thriving.

And here's a prayer from St. Francis of Assisi:

You are holy, Lord,
the only God,
and Your deeds are wonderful.
You are strong.
You are great.
You are the Most High.
You are Almighty.
You, Holy Father
are King of heaven and earth.
You are Three and One,
Lord God, all Good.
You are Good,
all Good, supreme Good,
Lord God, living and true.
You are love.
You are wisdom.
You are humility.
You are endurance.
You are rest.
You are peace.
You are joy and gladness.
You are justice and moderation.
You are all our riches,
and You suffice for us.
You are beauty.
You are gentleness.
You are our protector.
You are our guardian and defender.
You are our courage.
You are our haven and our hope.
You are our faith,
our great consolation.
You are our eternal life,
Great and Wonderful Lord,
God Almighty,
Merciful Saviour.
