Prayer-Walking Time #42: On the Lookout

Who knew how wonderful it would be to pray in the prefectural building (kencho)? They have a warm indoor 19th floor available for anyone to visit and walk around to see 360 degrees around the city and toward the sea. It was a perfect spot to pray with Stephen and our friend Michael last night for everyone in the area dealing with the aftereffects and aftershocks of the January 1 earthquake.

Nobody was up there except for us.

I was praying that my prayers would fly in the direction that they are needed, that Jesus would work through them and bring healing, wholeness, and restoration. Beauty from ashes. The oil of joy for mourning, when it's the appropriate time.

Downstairs and outside the parking lot was full of the cars of prefectural employees still working after 7 PM on a Sunday night. Many of the office lights were on.

Emergency and military vehicles were parked there too. This is a huge operation.

I am keenly aware that while we were snug and warm and praying, many out there are not currently living with those comforts.

I'm trusting that our little seeds of faith will help bring a harvest of Jesus-love in Ishikawa Prefecture.
