Prayer-Walking Evening #3

"Why do you bother? Nothing's going to change. What's the point in going? You won't hear from God anyway."

This is what I was feeling in my spirit as I drove to meet Sophia tonight to prayer walk together, our way of fighting human trafficking and injustice in our corner of the world, Kanazawa, Japan.

But I kept driving. And I met Sophia. We walked, and prayed, and walked, and talked, and listened.

It was low-key this time--it's a Wednesday after all, not a partying Saturday night--but there were some girls out and about, trying to pick up customers, and some guys in black suits trying to draw other guys in to meet some ladies. Just because it's a weeknight doesn't mean nothing is happening. So we prayed and asked God again for freedom from injustice, for light to blast away the darkness, for souls to be released and for folks to meet Jesus, for these myriad dodgy businesses to be shut down.

And we kept praying Jesus' name. Also, my friend Hiukei was at home praying along with us as she put her little ones to bed.

I will keep talking about this issue, too--one of my Japanese friends didn't even know that human trafficking existed at all in Japan. She only thought it was an issue in other countries.
