What grabbed me about this BBC article about the story of Hollie, a lady in the state of Ohio who has escaped from sex trafficking, is that she is now helping those (including her little sister) who are in exactly the same place she was: traumatized and abused from a young age, on drugs and alcohol, and who get sucked into a life of abuse with a pimp as a result. It's a vicious cycle
It's not an easy read, but Hollie, with help from Survivor's Ink and CATCH Court, has stopped the evil cycle and turned it into a virtuous one. Through Survivor's Ink, she was able to have her "branding" tattoo from her pimp turned into something lovely, and through CATCH Court, she received trauma therapy and a chance to have intensive rehab from drug use and also an escape from recidivism in the court system (she had been to jail 50 times for soliciting for sex). Two very worthy organizations!
So I read this and freak out for victims--when I realize that actually God wants me to look at his face of love and know his heart for them outshines anything any human will ever do to them or for them.
And congratulations to Hollie on being one of the BBC's 100 Women of 2019. She totally deserves it.
