Prayer-Walking Time #48: Katamachi, Shintate, and the River

It was a great prayer time tonight with Stephen and Michael---we toured Katamachi and the dodgy bars (from the sidewalks!), the local church, ran into a friend and her fiance and offered to pray for them (they asked for prayer for their upcoming wedding), and then scooted down the Tatemachi street and then across a main road to Shintatemachi, ending up walking by the Sai River and back to Katamachi.

We went through blaring lights, quiet neighborhoods, and saw and heard (probably) gang members on their motorcycles blocking traffic and blasting their engines. We walked dark streets where folks were probably watching TV or sleeping, and by blinding storefronts that introduce men to women workers in bars.

I don't know what God is doing but we trust him to do his work and in his time. It was one of those times when I just felt emotionally neutral and I just have to believe that God promises to bring justice and make things right. He is with us always.
