Prayer-Walking Time #49: Come to Me All Who Are Heavy Laden

What a great evening in downtown Kanazawa with Ian and Maeva! We started at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art...

Next stop: City Hall...

And a relatively new Turkish cafe where the owner was just locking up for the night. We chatted with him and told him we'd pray a blessing over his shop (though he said he didn't have time for us to do it right then on the spot). He lives in Nagoya and owns three of these Turkish cafes around Japan.

Then the Catholic church...

The Katamachi entertainment district was buzzing with loads and loads of people and flashing signs for bars where people can meet men or women (host and hostess bars)...

The moon was full and beautiful. It reminded me that there is beauty if we look beyond the surface of the (sometimes sordid) city night life.

We prayed in front of Club Universe (which advertises foreign women who work there) and many other bars and clubs.

Our last stop was Kanazawa Kyoukai (Kanazawa Church), with a sign out front with the verse from Matthew about "come to me all who are heavy laden and I will give you rest." Amen.

Ian and Maeva, thanks for coming along tonight and being so encouraging!
