Thank you to Linda and Doug Grimms for coming all the way from Kansas in the US to pray around Japan with various folks, including us!
It was fantastic to finally meet them in person after praying through the summer on Monday mornings with them in the RJC (Reaching Japanese for Christ) Zoom prayer times led by Don Wright, a former long-term missionary in Japan.
Linda and Doug retired 10 years ago and since then have felt God's calling to pray for Japan and in Japan.
We had a good prayer-walking time this morning around the Katamachi entertainment district in Kanazawa and finished with hot drinks at the Turkish cafe in Korinbo (where we also silently prayed for Orfan, the Turkish owner, who also owns two other cafes in Nagoya and Gifu---blessings on him and his business).
Now they are off to Fukui and other parts of Japan before heading back to the US. We're grateful for Linda and Doug and their persistence and encouragement. Well done, good and faithful servants. And come back!
Edited to add:
As we were walking and praying with Linda and Doug down a tiny side street in the entertainment district of Katamachi here in Kanazawa, we smelled a very sweet smell: a kinmokusei tree (sweet osmanthus). I prayed that God's Spirit would be the sweet fragrance wafting in us and through that whole area.
Thanks! We were blessed to meet you in person and to become part of your prayer community in Kanazawa, briefly.
