A Prayer-Walking Gamble

I spent plenty of time walking around the town of High Wycombe while my son took his GCSE exams this spring/summer, and I noticed lots of betting shops there. I also saw one in Marlow, my husband's hometown where we were staying.

There used to be more storefront betting establishments, but honestly, most have gone online now, which is even more insidious.

I've even noticed that pachinko parlors are closing here in Japan because gambling is gaining traction in people's phones.

Many many folks get trapped in gambling cycles and addictions. It really is the devil's work.

So I spent some time walking around and praying against the brick-and-mortar betting shops, praying that angels would stand at the doors with fiery swords to keep people from going in.

And the same goes for the online devilry.

I found some specific prayers for deliverance from gambling at the African Christian website here.

Lord, have mercy and hear our prayers.
